The idea was to create an app that resides in the background of your desktop and is a low-key means of accessing your Facebook at any time. With opacity control, it can be just as discreet as the user desires. The user simply hovers over the app’s window when it is active and the semi-translucent Facebook page will become fully visible – bringing the app to life.

Ghost for Facebook automatically refreshes the user’s Facebook page at any interval they choose via the Preferences panel, and one can even tweak window height, width, placement and opacity.

We created the framework for the Orangebox iPad application from the ground up. It seamlessly handles over 1GB of data and high resolution images and videos. It is the perfect sales and presentation tool that will leave an impression on your prospective clients. Hook it up to a projector and impress your audience.

Results:

We developed this iPad app for the leading office furniture company, Orangebox Ltd, under an extremely tight deadline. The application was showcased and very well received at the Exploring Innovation 2010 exhibition at the Royal College of Art, London.

CopterKid is the first app our studio made, all the way back in July 2009. It is a mindlessly fun and addictive game for all ages that allows you to pit your skills against other players from around the world. It’s perfect for playing on a train journey to work, back seat of a car, during recess at school or even at a boring date!

Project:

CopterKid is a game with a simple premise, to get as far as possible. However, under the hood there are some very advanced features, such as randomly generating environments, facebook integration, global online leaderboards and various in-game powerups.

Results:

During its time, CopterKid was without a doubt one of the best looking 2D games available on the AppStore. It achieved a Top 10 status on the AppStore’s Kids and Family games sales charts.

Our beautiful Annabelle has put together a series of video clips to create the must have app for guys both young and old.

Project:

Despite being a relatively straightforward project in terms of programming, a large chunk of time was spent in casting the right individual that could provide us with genuine & helpful advice in an easy to understand and concise way. Having cast Annabelle, we knew we had to have an equally amazing user interface to compliment the high quality of the app as a whole.

Results:

Tens of thousands of users and hundreds of weekly user emails looking for advice from our Annabelle. The use of a lite version to give a teaser of the full app worked well, with a conversion rate above the industry standard of 8%.

Following the inconsistencies of the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme prior to its launch, which were highlighted in the feasibility report released by the Transport for London, we had one clear cut objective – to create the perfect app for the job. Moreover, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, called out to app developers to create a solution to help users of the cycle scheme. This prompted us to get started on the sleekest, simplest and most practical mobile application and led to the eventual birth of our London Cycle: Maps & Routes app.

Project:

Our app easily allows users to find cycle stations, plan cycle-safe routes from one point to another and check real-time cycle availability at any particular station using their iPhones and iPods. We pioneered a lot of features within our app that helped set us apart from our competition.

We have made use of various technologies within the app, such as the Google Maps API, Cycle Streets routing, and a Perl based real time web scraper which gathers the cycle availability information from TfL.

Furthermore, we have a rental timer that tracks costs incurred whilst using a bike as well as an audible alarm that gives a 5 minute warning before a price increment.

The app’s built-in cycle safe routing, helps users to avoid busy roads and informs them of the time needed and distance for any particular route they enter.

Result:

Our app is widely regarded as indispensable and as the perfect companion tool for the Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme. We have received widespread press coverage from UK’s largest media publications and have been featured multiple times by Apple on their iTunes AppStore, including their coveted and most prominent full front page banner. London Cycle is ranked the No.1 app for the Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme, and has been ranked as the No.1 app on the UK AppStore under their Travel category.

Our massive userbase approximately amounts to 95% of all mobile users who use an app for the scheme. Furthermore, our cycle-safe routes that minimise right hand turns are being used by an ever-increasing number of London cyclists who are not even users of the scheme.
